Adiong Memorial State College Celebrates World Hijab Day 2026 in-partnership with National Commission on Muslim-Filipinos- Lanao del Sur
February 11, 2026 | The Adiong Memorial State College proudly commemorated World Hijab Day 2026 through a meaningful and vibrant celebration in-partnership with National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – Lanao Area B. The activity was conducted at the Science Lecture Hall. Students, faculty members, staff, and distinguished guests were gathered in honoring the hijab as a powerful symbol of faith, identity, dignity, and empowerment.
The program featured Dr. Anisah Mapupuno-Laguindab, GAD Focal Person of NCMF, as the resource speaker, together with Chief of Staff Ma’am Rahana Jhan Ganda and the rest of the NCMF team. Through interactive and heartfelt discussions, they emphasized the hijab not only as a religious practice but also as a way of life that nurtures understanding, respect, and solidarity among communities.
The success of the activity was made possible through the dedicated leadership of the AMSC Gender and Development (GAD) Committee headed by Sittie Asiyah Bint Thalib, Normina A. Taib, with its members Farimah Menor and Joainah Paunte. Their commitment and careful preparation ensured a well-organized and engaging program that truly resonated with the participants. Adding energy and inspiration to the celebration were the lady Lake Knights and gentlemen of AMSC, whose active involvement reflected the institution’s strong commitment to advancing cultural appreciation and religious awareness within the academic community.
Through this initiative, AMSC and NCMF reaffirmed their shared mission to empower women and promote respect for diversity. The event highlighted the hijab as a personal choice and a profound source of strength and confidence. More importantly, it created a safe space for dialogue, learning, and mutual respect. The World Hijab Day 2026 celebration concluded on a high note, leaving a meaningful and lasting impression on everyone present and strengthening the college’s continuing advocacy for inclusivity, understanding, and empowerment for all.
