Graduating AMSC Students leave Green Legacy with Bubong Campus Tree Planting Initiative
Brgy. Madanding, Bubong, Lanao del Sur — In a meaningful gesture of environmental commitment and legacy-building, graduating students from Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) gathered this morning for a collaborative tree planting activity at the new Bubong Extension Campus.
The event, which kicked off at 9:00 AM today, June 17, 2026, brought together graduating seniors across multiple disciplines, including the College of Agriculture, Business Administration, Education, Forestry, Fisheries, Graduate School and Information Technology.
The initiative saw the successful planting of more than a hundred seedlings of Molave, locally known as Tugas (Vitex parviflora). These sturdy native hardwood trees symbolize the enduring strength and deep roots of the graduating class as they prepare to transition into their respective professional fields.
Because of the limited number of available seedlings reserved primarily for the graduates' hands-on participation, faculty and staff members were invited to attend, witness, and show their solidarity and support for the green advocacy.
The success of the environmental drive was made possible through swift inter-departmental cooperation and preparation standard for AMSC’s community projects.
The logistics and transport of the seedlings from the National Power Corporation (NPC) to the AMSC Bubong Campus were successfully completed yesterday, June 16, through the dedicated efforts of General Services Office Head, Forester Alinor Abdulazis, alongside Mu-ad Inidal Taher and Shams Reda Uko.
AMSC administration played a pivotal role in bringing the project to fruition. School officials expressed gratitude to Vice President Rashida A. Abedin for seamlessly coordinating the event's logistics, and to Director of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Luis Siddick F. Adiong for overseeing the necessary campus arrangements.
As these students prepare to march across the graduation stage, the growing Molave trees left behind at the Bubong Campus stand as a living testament to their batch’s contribution to climate action and environmental sustainability.
