Adiong Memorial State College unites for 2nd Quarter 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

AMSC campus ground, Brgy. Bagoaingud, Ditsa-an Ramain,— In a proactive effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and foster a culture of resilience, Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) actively participated in the 2nd Quarter 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026.

The campus-wide exercise commenced exactly past nine o’clock in the morning, signaled by a loud siren that prompted students, faculty, and administrative staff to immediately execute the standard emergency protocol: #DuckCoverHold.

The event was successfully spearheaded by AMSC's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRM) Coordinator, Sir Janoden Mauna under the leadership of their SUC President, Dr. Sherifa Rohannie K. Adiong. Equipped with a megaphone to guide the academic community, Sir Mauna directed the evacuation flow and emphasized the vital importance of alertness and quick reflexes during seismic events.

Captured images from the drill highlight the serious commitment of the AMSC community toward disaster risk reduction are the following, to wit:

First is executing core protocols, inside the AMSC campus gymnasium, students can be seen actively practicing defensive postures under the shade of the grandstand. They swiftly ducked beside chairs and covered their heads to simulate protection against falling debris.

Second is orderly evacuation, further documentation in some photos captured the calm and coordinated assembly of various student batches within the designated open-air safe zones.

Third, on the ground, Sir Janoden Mauna is pictured delivering crucial safety reminders and evaluating the execution speed of the participants, standing beside the official NSED 2026 banner.

As to the whole assembly, the wide-angle views in some photos showcased the large turnout outside the College of Agriculture Building, where hundreds of students properly assumed the crouch position on the concrete pavement.

Thus, the drill concluded with an evaluation segment captured in a commemorative group photo of the organizing committee, faculty leads, and coordinators in the 2nd Quarter 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

"Regularly conducting these simultaneous drills ensures that our students and personnel do not just memorize safety procedures theoretically, but develop the muscle memory necessary to save lives when a real disaster strikes," campus organizers noted during the post-drill briefing.

By routinely engaging in these national initiatives, Adiong Memorial State College reinforces its institutional mandate to provide a safe, secure, and disaster-ready learning environment for all.
